Greater London Authority - Review of Apprenticeships in London
Cognisant Research supported an exploratory research project into Apprenticeships in London, for the GLA. We worked with the Connexions service and other community based training providers to identify suitable young people around London. In addition to recruiting a group of current apprentices and a group of young people considering an apprenticeship, Cognisant Research was also able to recruit young people who had started an apprenticeship but failed to complete it. Participants in the ‘drop-outs’ group included young people who are currently Not in Employment, Education or Training. Cognisant Research deliberately targeted deprived areas across London for recruiting, in order to develop the greatest understanding of the barriers young people experience when entering into an apprenticeship.
